Wolfgang Kirsch, who calls himself Magneto, has made 86 tattoos on his body over the past two decades, infusing it with 98 percent of ink. He is officially recognized as the most tattooed man in Germany. Wolfgang is now 72 years old, and he began this glorious path after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the reunification of the country.
According to Magneto, to get the first tattoo – a tear under the eye – he had to wait until the Berlin Wall fell. In the GDR, where he worked as a postal worker, this was completely unthinkable.
But over the past twenty years, he came off in full – there is no ink only on the feet. In total, over the years, he spent 720 hours under a tattoo artist’s needle.
In addition to tattoos, Magneto has 17 implants under the skin, including those in the throat and fingers.
Some of the metal implants are magnetic and can attract staples, which is important for his image of a “magnetic man”.
In the photo: this is how he was before, before his passion for body modification.
“In the GDR, tattoos were not approved and were unthinkable for the post office employees,” Magneto said. “It wasn’t until I was 46 that I got my first tattoo – a tear under my eye.”
The hobby cost the man 25,000 euros. He even got a tattoo on the whites of his eyes! Now she enjoys the effect produced: “Even on the street, they constantly ask me for autographs and everyone wants to take a picture with me.”
